MEASUREMENTS - GARMENTS

ALB & CASSOCK MEASUREMENTS

We require one or two measurements.

One measurement; Length only with chest size taken as an industry average for that lengh

Two measurements:The length and chest size.We also offer the option of you supplying the Length of the Garment or the Height of the Person as long as we are clear which of these (two options.

In such cases where we use the Length of the Garment or the Height of the Person alone (without Chest size) an industry average size is used.

Length:

Measurement to be taken from the nape of the neck (under a conventional shirt, blouse or jacket collar) to the hem/length you actually want the garment to be made..

Chest:

Measurement to be taken around the chest under the arms and over the fullest part of the chest.

{An alternative option is to supply the HEIGHT of the Priest/Server/Reader/Person:

By supplying the height of the person via the use of universal charts, measurements for length, chest etc are taken as averages.}

COTTA & SURPLICE MEASUREMENTS

We require two measurements. The length and chest size.

Length:

Measurement to be taken from the shoulder to the hem/length you actually want the garment to be made.

The measurement for the length of the Cotta or Surplice is measured from the flat part of the shoulder down onto the position on your thigh that you would like as the length.

You will note a yellow length and a red length.

The yellow length is is taken from the shoulder to the wrist and is usually a guideline length for a cotta.

The red length is is taken from the shoulder to the tips of the fingers with the arms stretched out down the side of the body as per the picture of the lady and is usually a guideline length for a standard surplice.

As all lengths are subject to taste (subjective) the length chosen aesthetically would normally be in line with your tradition/church/diocese or quite simply according to your own taste.

Chest:

Measurement to be taken around the chest under the arms and over the fullest part of the chest.

{An alternative option is to supply the HEIGHT of the Priest/Server/Reader/Person:

By supplying the height of the person via the use of universal charts, measurements for length, chest etc are taken as averages.}
