The ELECTRIC STANDS
The lights or candles are placed on the Electric Stand in a similar way to a conventional votive stand and light up simply by ‘low voltage’ contact
There are three styles of Electric Votive Stands.
1. Electric Votive Light Stands with the option of 21, 33, or 60 Lights.
2. Electric Votive Candle Stands with the option of 21, 33, 48 or 60 Candles.
(Options 1 & 2 have the Candle/Light console set on a highly attractive, robust and durable stand made of the highest quality materials with a bronzed finish and fitted with high security locks. This style of stand extends accross the whole range.)
3. Electric Votive Candle Stands with the option of 21, 33, or 48 Lights.
(Style 3 offers an Artistic option with a choice of 21, 33 or 48 candles with the candle console supported by a quality thick gauge Wrought Iron frame.)
AUTOMATIC ELECTRONIC STANDS
The lights/candles on these AUTOMATIC Electronic Votive Standsare pre-set at the factory to remain lit for 1 hour, however, on request, they can be pre-set for any period from 10 minutes to 3 hours.
The lights/candles remain permanently in place on the Electronic Stand and light up by the action of an offering breaking the beam as it enters the money box.
For Candle Stands there is the option of 21, 33, 48 or 60 candles and for Light Stands there is the option of 21, 33, or 60 Lights.
Automatic Electronic Stands operate as follows:
When the coin/note is inserted (or card if no currency is wanted - sometimes an option in schools and hospitals) a beam is broken and a candle/light is randomly selected emitting 3 warning flashes ensuring the parishioner/visitor is aware.
However when 75% of the candles/lights are lit the candles/lights turn off one at a time in their order of placement in order to guarantee potential space for new lightings up. This feature means that each candle has a time limit determined according to how many candles/lights are lit thereby allowing longer pre-set timings thereby attracting parishioners/visitors due to the stand remaining activated with light for longer and yet allowing all new parishioners/visitors the opportunity to light a candle/light.
(In all cases this option has the Candle/Light console set on a highly attractive, robust and durable stand made of the highest quality materials with a bronzed finish and fitted with high security locks. This style of stand extends accross the whole range.)
ELECTRIC VOTIVE STANDS ACTIVATED BY SWITCHES.
The lights/candles remain permanently in place on the Votive Stand and the selected switch activates the appropriate light or candle. Simply each light/candle has its own on/off switch. Only available for candles in a 21, 33 or 48 candle stand and lights in a 21 and 33 light stand.
Electric and Electronic stands are inexpensive to run with low voltage running costs with all lights lit run at a few pence per day. A manufacturers guarantee of two years is provided on all Electronic stands and a manufacturers guarantee of six years is provided on all Electric Stands. A long term maintenance contract can be provided on request. Whilst there is always a running debate - the real flame versus the artificial light - these stands provide for absolute safety in School, Hospital, RAF or Armed Forces chapels and where insurance companies exclude the use of a naked flame. They reduce your carbon footprint, satisfy all health & safety considerations and running costs are minimal.
In these days of political correctness with the possibilities of litigation under the 'Health & Safety Acts' we shoulder severe responsibilities for 'Risk Assessment'. The challenge of 'Risk Assessment' is not having the benefit of hindsight yet needing to be able to assess the potential hazards and the probability and severity of any occurrence. Whilst the 'real flame' is normally viewed aesthetically as looking 'best' the only course offering a virtual zero risk is an electric or electronic equivalent.
THE ELECTRIC and ELECTRONIC OPTIONS HELP IN REMOVING GENERATIONS OF SOOT
Restoration to remove many years of soot often goes beyond cleaning the stonework to the renovation of the pews, new carpeting, refurbishment of the Stations of the Cross and restoration of art works. In order to retain the many beautiful colours and the many delicate finishes and features that have been revealed steps are often taken to avoid it ever happening again.
